Haqq Dawh Media Present: Glad Tidings S2 E11 Time Management from an Islamic Point of View (Show Notes)

AsSalaam Alkuim,

Time Management from an Islamic Point of View.

Time Management:
The act or process of planning and executing control over the amount of time spent on said activities.

Rewards from good Time Management:
  1. Effectiveness
  2. Efficiency
  3. Productivity

In Islam the two resources that guide us as Muslims, and our time management is The Quran and Sunnah( words and actions of Prophet Muhammad).

Time is a blessing that mankind must understand is a blessing given to us from Allah.

Time:
Span of life, the scope of man’s existence and the arena of his presence.

The most significant Surah about time is Surah Al Asr (Surah 103).
1. وَالْعَصْرِ‌
By Time.
2. إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ‌
Indeed man is in loss,
3. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ‌
except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience.

Here in the Surah Allah swears upon time himself. When Allah swears by his creation, He is bring attention to it. He is pointing out it’s importance.

Man’s purpose is to worship Allah, and that is why we are blessed with time.
The act’s of worshipping Allah are allocated into specific time: ie Salah.

Allah say’s “ worship at fixed hours hath been enjoined on the believers.
Al Raham Verse 26;
“All that’s on the earth will perish”
Al Inshirah 94:7
So when you have finished (your duties) then stand up (for worship)

Time Management the Sunnah way

In Sunnah time is broken down into two parts;
  1. A great blessing
  2. A great responsibility

On the Day of Resurrection man will be asked about :
  1. How he spent his lifetime
  2. How he spent his youth
  3. How he spent and acquired his wealth
  4. What he did with his knowledge

Take advantage of 5 before 5:
The Prophet (SAW) advised to: “Take benefit of five before five: Your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before you are preoccupied, and your life before your death

As Muslims we must ensure we allocate and organize our time. By allocating and organizing your time you bring an important balance into your life.
  1. Time for praying to your Lord
  2. Time for questioning yourself
  3. Time for reflecting on Allah’s creation
  4. Time for food and drink

Time management tips used by our Prophet (SAW)
  1. Be an early riser
  2. Schedule your life around your 5 daily Salah
  3. Prioritize and be consistent
  4. Hasten to do good
  5. Honor the time of others

My two cents Brothers and Sisters is before you do anything make good intentions, start every actions with Bismallah, and sincere dua to Allah.
