Creations of Allah Part 1 (Angels)

Angels:

‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘The angels are created from light, just as the jinn are created from smokeless fire and mankind is created from what you have been told about.’" [Muslim].

"I have only created jinn and men to worship Me.” 51:56

Today’s episode will cover the creation of three of Allah’s creations (that we know of). The creation of the Angels, Jinn, and Mankind. I will do my best to give you at least a general, and clear understanding of these three creations.

Our first of the creation that we will cover will be the angels:

The belief in the angels is one of the Six Pillars of Islam ( reference Episode 7). You cannot be a Muslim if you don’t believe in the six articles of Faith.

The angels are from the world of the unseen. There is no text that tells humans when the angels were first created. Even though we do not have an exact time of when the angels were
created, the angels were created before man. The Quran 2:30 proves this:  “And when your Lord said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to establish upon earth one who shall inherit it."

Angels do not have free will to obey or disobey. Angels are totally submissive to Allah, and were created to carry out the will of Allah, as He wills.

 In Quran 18: 50, Allah says that Shaitan is from the creation called Jinn. He refused to obey Allah’s instruction to prostrate to Adam. From this, we know that he was given a free will to obey or to disobey. Angels have several jobs: Some angels delivered revelation, some angels were sent to warn mankind, the Angel of death is sent to take the souls, and there are angels that carry the throne of Allah.

Angels differ in status and jobs, they do not eat or drink, and can take human form. (ref the story of
 Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Lut (AS)). The angels do not get tired of worshiping Allah. Some protect Paradise, some stay with humans writing their deeds. Some angels question you when you die; some angels visit you while you are in your mother's womb.

 For in the presence of your Lord are those who celebrate His praises by night and by day. And they never become tired (nor feel themselves above it)." [41:38]

 The number of angels are unknown to us, but we have to believe from hadith of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that there are more than we could ever imagine.

 Angels are made of light. Angels are very large, have wings, very beautiful but can appear as very ugly to sinners, and are neither male or female.

Who is Allah?

Who is Allah?

Allah is the One who created everyone and everything.

If you pray to anyone or anything other than the Creator, you are praying to a false god. The punishment for that is Hell forever.

It means that Allah is your God when you were in the womb of your mother in the world before this world. He is your God in this world. He is also your God in the next world, on the other side of the grave.

Allah – the Supreme Being of
this universe – revealed the message of truth through the Quran to enable us to
live meaningful lives and to help us succeed in the hereafter. Reflecting on
that message with an open mind and heart has allowed many from mankind to
recognize and believe in Allah as the sole Deity of this universe. Once our
minds clearly know Allah as our Creator and Sustainer, we can better understand
Allah’s rights over us and can also help us to worship Him the way we ought to

Allah is He that whom there
is no other god; who knows all things both secret and open. Allah is Arabic name
for God. Allah is the name He (Allah) uses for himself. Allah is not only used
by Muslims but, is also used to instead of God by Arab Christians, Arab Jews
and Sikhs of  Western Malaysia.

Allah and the name Allah is
unique and for the only Deity, the Creator of the universe. According to the
Islamic belief, Allah is the proper name for the Creator and humble submission
to His will, His ordinances, and commandments is pivot of the Muslims faith.

The reason the name Allah is
more accurate is that Allah is not just a name of God but it is also the
personal name for our Creator. You can say god or lord, but when one says Allah
he is involving the personal name of Allah. By calling Him Allah this
establishes a personal connection and pulls the human being closer to his Lord.

Islamic tradition, there are
99 Names of Allah. Each name being a distinct characteristic of Allah. All the
names refer to Allah the supreme and all comprehensive divine names. Out of the
99 names of Allah the most frequently uses is Ar- Rahman “The Merciful”  Ar-Rahim “The Compassionate”

Even though Allah has 99
attributes He is One. He states this emphatically in Surah Ikhlas (Ch 112):

1. Say: He is Allah, the
        One and Only;
2. Allah, the Eternal,
        Absolute;
3. He begets not, nor is He
        begotten;
4. And there is none like
        unto Him.

The name Allah is not subject
to plurality. In Arabic, there is no word that is equivalent to the English
term gods. This stresses Islamic monotheism. The term Allah also does not lend
to any gender whatsoever, while in English, you can have gods and goddess. With
Allah this cannot happen.

Significance of Friday (Jummah) for a Muslim

Among the seven days of the week, Friday is the day when Allah’s Special mercies are granted. It is a day of gathering for the Muslims and rewards are increased. Many great events took place on this day, and yet to take place.

The significance of Friday is illustrated in these verses:
1 – Allah has blessed us a complete surah about Friday .
“O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.” [Al-Quran 62:9]

2 – The day of Jumu’ah includes an hour during which all supplications are accepted. Abu Hurayrah, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“On (the day of) Jumu’ah is an hour during which Allah gives to a Muslim servant standing in prayer whatever he asks for.”[Al-Bukhaari and Muslim].

3 – The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said:
“The best day the sun rises over is Friday; on it Allah created Aadam. On it, he was made to enter paradise, on it he was expelled from it, and the Last Hour will take place on no other day than Friday.”[Ahmad and At-At-Tirmithi].

4 – The charity given in this day is more virtuous than the other days of a week. The Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“Charity given during the day of Jumu’ah is greater (in reward) than any other day.”

5 – It is a day on which sins are forgiven, as narrated by Salman (RA) who narrated that the Prophet, (ﷺ) said:
“Any man who performs Ghusl on Friday, perfumes himself if he has perfume, wears the best of his clothes, then goes to the mosque and offers as many prayers as he wishes while not harming anybody, then listens quietly while the Imaam speaks until he offers the prayer, will have all his sins between that Friday and the next forgiven.” [Al-Bukhaari].

6 – Dying on Friday, during the day or night, is a sign of a good end, for the one who dies on that day will be protected from the trial of the grave (i.e., Allah The Almighty will enable such a person to be steadfast during it). The Prophet, (ﷺ) said:
“Any Muslim who dies during the day or night of Friday will be protected by Allah from the trial of the grave.” [At-Tirmithi and Ahmad].

7 – It was narrated from Aws ibn Aws al-Thaqafi that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Whoever does Ghusl on Friday and causes (his wife) to do Ghusl, and sets out early, and comes close to the imam and listens and keeps quiet, for every step he takes he will have the reward of fasting and praying qiyaam for one year.” (al-Tirmidhi, 496)

Significance of Friday prayer (Jummah Salat)

Friday Prayer is obligatory and this is supported by the Quran, the Sunnah and the consensus of the Muslims. It occupies an important place among the distinctive features of Islam. A person who does not believe in the obligatory status of the Friday Prayer falls outside the pale of Islam, and the one who abandons it due to negligence and carelessness, without a genuine reason, becomes a sinner.

The Qurán says:
O Believers! When you hear the call to the Friday Prayer, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave your trading; this is better for you only if you know it. (62 9)

Here remembrance means the Friday Sermon and the congregational service, and hastening implies that one should make necessary preparations for it and attend the mosque promptly.
This unusual stress throws light on the unique importance of the Friday Prayer.
The other prayers can be offered without the congregation and, if missed, can be offered later also. But not so the Friday Prayer. It is conditioned upon congregation and, if missed, cannot be offered later.
Therefore, as soon as the call for it is given, the Believers are commanded to leave their business and trading and hasten to the mosque for the remembrance of Allah.

The fact is that the remembrance of Allah for a little while and bowing and prostrating oneself before Him along with the congregation in full consciousness yield[s] eternal benefits for man far greater in value and worth than the temporary and meagre material gains that he craves for in the world.The Holy Prophet has said :
1. The Friday Congregational Prayer is obligatory for every Muslim, except the slave, the woman, the child and the sick. (Abu Daud)
2. The Friday Prayer is obligatory on every person who believes in Allah and the last day; the one who ignores it on account of sport or fun, or trade and business, will be ignored by Allah, Who is Pure and Self-Sufficient. (Daraquini)
3. The name of the person who abandons the Friday Prayer without a genuine reason, will be recorded as a hypocrite in the Book (the Preserved Tablet), whose writings can neither be scraped out nor tampered with.(Mishkat)
4. I wish I should appoint someone as Imam in my place, and should go and set fire to the houses of the people who stay back at home and neglect the Friday Prayer. (Muslim)
5. Hazrat Ibn Umair and Hazrat Abu Hurairah have reported that they heard the Holy Prophet say: People are warned against neglecting the Friday Prayer, otherwise Allah will seal their hearts, and they will be condemned to negligence (for ever). (Muslim)
6. The one who hears the call to the Friday Prayer and does not turn up for it on one Friday, and then on the second Friday and the third Friday consecutively, has his heart sealed and is turned a hypocrite.

So according to Bukharì, The Holy Prophet has described the merits of the Friday Prayer thus: The one who had [a] bath on Friday, cleaned himself fully, used oil and perfume, then went to the mosque early in the afternoon and took his place quietly without pushing or disturbing the people ; then offered the Sunnat prayer; then listened to the sermon peacefully, he will have all his sins committed since the previous Friday forgiven.
